What are Publishers' Bindings?
Publishers' bindings, also known as edition bindings, were beautifully decorated cloth bindings that were common from the early 19th to 20th centuries. They're an incredibly interesting aspect of book history as their prevalance grew alongside changing trends in readership, as well as new tools and technologies being utilized in book manufacturing.
